Have you ever tasted delicious grapefruits in Vietnam

Every year, Tan Trieu village welcomes thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to the village to enjoy the beauty and savour the taste of the grapefruits.Tan Trieu grapefruit is not just the local area but also well-known nationwide and overseas.

Tan Trieu grapefruit village located in Tan Binh commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province, is about 3km form Bien Hoa city. The village remains a peaceful and quiet place with fruitful grapefruit gardens.
Tan Trieu is the oldest village in Dong Nai, lying along the riverside, covered by canals, making an isolated isle with an only road to the village. Tourists in Vietnam travel can come to Tan Trieu by boats or by individual vehicle (car, motorbike) through National way 24. Local people will guide them to visit the village, enjoy specialities like grapefruits, grapefruit salad (goi buoi) and grapefruit wine.

Tan Trieu grapefruit has many other species such as Thanh grapefruit, Xiem grapefruit, guava grapefruit, sour grapefruit, yellow leaf sweet grapefruit, and Duong Num grapefruit, He grapefruit, Long grapefruit, Mrs. Van grapefruit and so forth.
 Each kind of grapefruit has its special taste such as the Thanh grapefruit is juicy and fruitful. Each season, a tree can produce 400- 500 fruits. The Xiem and Long have small size but sweet taste. The most tasty grapefruits are Duong la cam and Duong num. The Oi grapefruit has small size but special characteristic – it can be kept more than a half of year but remains sweet taste.
There are many kinds of grapefruits in Tan Trieu. All of them taste delicious due to the rich soil along the riverside. Anyone who once enjoyed goi buoi will easily recognize Tan Trieu goi buoi because of its special taste and recipe. Goi buoi in other places is mixed with dried cuttlefish that is torn to pieces while Tan Trieu goi buoi is mixed with freshwater crayfish (tom song).

 When enjoying goi buoi, visitors in Vietnam tourism  will experience a little bit sour, mildly sweet tastes mingled with sweetness of crayfish, nutty flavour of peanuts, hot taste of chilli and savor of rau thom. In addition, a piece of crispy girdle cake covered with red shrimps will make the goi buoi tastier. Besides goi buoi, tourists can buy grapefruit juice, grapefruit wine or Duong Da Xanh grapefruit as gifts for their relatives. One special characteristic of Duong Da Xanh grapefruit is that it can be kept a long time but remains good taste.
Cultivating grapefruits is the traditional career of Tan Trieu people. The grapefruit gardens have made a huge improvement to the quality of life of local people as well as being an attractive ecotourism site for tourists in Vietnam tours.
